It’s well recognised that high intensity interval training is the most time efficient way to build fitness and improve cycling performance. Each of our 45 minute classes are designed to give you maximum ‘bang for your buck’ and have you working at a level of intensity appropriate for your goals, age and current fitness level.
How often should I come?
Most of our clients do at least 1 ECS class each week as a high intensity/time efficient compliment to their outdoor cycling kilometres and other fitness activities.
How do I book/pay for classes?
The first step is to create an account
here. You will then receive an auto email from our performance software provider
(mywellnesscloud) to confirm your account in their software and to provide you with details of our Echelon Cycling Studio app.
Once you have the app, you can then use this to book and pay for classes as well as to keep your own performance data.
Do I need to bring my own bike?
You are welcome to ride your bike to classes (we have on site bike parking) but we use state of the art
Technogym Skillbikes for your ECS sessions. Developed in conjunction with former World Cycling Champion
Paolo Bettini, our bikes, ride and shift gears like a road bike and provide an impressive array of metrics to inform your ride such as accurate dual crank power data, cadence, speed, distance, gradient and ANT+/Bluetooth HRM compatibility.
What do I wear/bring?
Ideal attire for ECS classes are padded cycling shorts and a lightweight top – you’ll be getting a sweat up! However it’s not a fashion parade, so any clothes that you are comfortable to exercise in also work well. You’ll need a drink bottle for water, your phone with the Echelon Cycling Studio App installed, socks for your workout and you are welcome to bring your own cycling shoes with Shimano road cycling cleats.
We have Shimano cycling shoes for your use if you don’t have your own and a chilled water station on site to refill your bottle.
I’m new to cycling – is this suitable for me?
ECS classes are a great option for new or curious cyclists. Learn about cycling from our team of experienced coaches without the pressure of being out on the road and be able to work at your own level in each class.
Do I need to be a cyclist?
Definitely not. ECS classes are designed to make you work hard and improve fitness no matter what your fitness background and are calibrated to your level of experience. Whether you are training for cycling, running, team sport, general fitness or just enjoy a good sweat our classes offer many benefits.
I am recovering from injury or illness – can I still attend class?
Your workout intensity within a class is based on your personal power thresholds. If you are having an ‘off’ day, your workout can easily be adjusted in class to manage workloads appropriately. Get clearance from physio or healthcare provider for lowerlimb injuries and it can be a perfect re-entry to getting fit……faster.
Do you offer Functional Threshold Power (FTP) testing?
Yes, we incorporate this regularly during classes so you can most accurately set workout targets. Private FTP testing is available between class hours by appointment –
click here to enquire. If you already know your FTP, please advise your ECS coach or record in your ECS app profile.
Can I upload to Strava?
Absolutely. You’ll need to link your Strava profile on the ECS app once and then future ECS sessions will automatically upload.
Can I crash, get hit by a car, sun burned or rained on?
No 😊
Do you have change/bathroom facilities?
We have change rooms, toilets and private shower facilities on site for your convenience.
